1. Purpose of the Platform
These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the eers.adalia.ac.ma platform and related services associated with EERS — Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Research School ("EERS").
EERS is an independent academic and scientific initiative organized by an international network of researchers, experts, reviewers, and contributors.
Administrative, technical, and organizational coordination of the initiative is provided by ADALIA Institute.
By accessing or using the platform, users acknowledge and agree to comply with these Terms of Use and all applicable laws and regulations.
2. Access to the Platform
Access to certain sections, services, submissions, registrations, or activities may require users to create an account, provide information, or complete registration procedures.
Users agree to provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information and to keep such information updated where applicable.
The organizing team reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or refuse access to the platform where reasonably necessary for operational, security, legal, or organizational reasons.
3. User accounts and credentials
Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of their login credentials and account information.
Users agree not to:
- share account credentials with unauthorized persons,
- impersonate another individual or organization,
- create fraudulent accounts,
- or attempt to gain unauthorized access to restricted areas of the platform.
Users remain responsible for all activities conducted through their accounts unless unauthorized access results from a demonstrated security breach attributable to the platform infrastructure.
4. Acceptable use
Users agree to use the platform lawfully, ethically, and in a manner consistent with the academic and scientific nature of EERS.
Users shall not:
- engage in unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, or misleading activities,
- interfere with the operation or security of the platform,
- introduce malicious software or harmful code,
- attempt unauthorized access, data extraction, scraping, or automated exploitation of the platform,
- infringe intellectual property rights,
- or use the platform in a manner likely to harm the integrity, reputation, security, or proper functioning of EERS activities.
The organizing team reserves the right to suspend or restrict access in cases of suspected misuse or violation of these Terms.
5. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, all platform-related and organizational content available through the platform — including interface design, website structure, visuals, communication materials, digital assets, and non-scientific organizational content — remains protected under applicable intellectual property laws and belongs to ADALIA Institute or the relevant rights holders.
Authors, speakers, researchers, reviewers, and contributors retain ownership of the intellectual property rights relating to the scientific, academic, and research content they submit or present through EERS, unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing.
By submitting content through the platform, contributors grant ADALIA Institute, acting as organizational coordinator of the EERS initiative, a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to review, evaluate, display, archive, reproduce, and disseminate such content strictly within the framework of EERS activities, scientific communication, institutional documentation, and related promotional purposes.
No transfer of ownership over contributors' intellectual property rights shall be inferred unless expressly established through a separate written agreement.
6. User-submitted content
Users remain solely responsible for:
- the legality,
- originality,
- accuracy,
- reliability,
- and scientific integrity of the content they submit, upload, publish, or communicate through the platform.
Users must ensure that submitted content does not:
- infringe third-party intellectual property rights,
- violate confidentiality obligations,
- contain unlawful or harmful material,
- or breach applicable laws or ethical standards.
The organizing team reserves the right to remove, restrict, or refuse content that may compromise legal compliance, platform security, scientific integrity, or the reputation of EERS activities.
7. Platform availability
Reasonable efforts are made to maintain the accessibility, security, and proper functioning of the platform.
However, uninterrupted availability, absence of errors, or permanent access cannot be guaranteed.
Access to the platform may be temporarily suspended, restricted, or modified for:
- maintenance operations,
- security measures,
- technical updates,
- operational reasons,
- force majeure events,
- or circumstances beyond reasonable organizational control.
8. External services and third-party links
The platform may integrate or provide access to third-party services, including payment providers such as Revolut Business and Stripe, external websites, digital tools, or partner platforms.
Such services operate independently and may be governed by their own legal terms and privacy policies.
Neither the EERS organizing team nor ADALIA Institute shall be held responsible for the availability, security, content, or practices of third-party services beyond their reasonable control.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, neither the EERS organizing team nor ADALIA Institute shall be held liable for:
- indirect or consequential damages,
- temporary interruptions or technical failures,
- cybersecurity incidents,
- third-party service disruptions,
- loss of data,
- unauthorized access resulting from factors beyond reasonable control,
- or damages arising from the use or inability to use the platform.
Users remain responsible for:
- their own devices,
- internet access,
- cybersecurity practices,
- and the protection of their own systems and credentials.
10. Personal Data
Personal data processed through the platform is handled in accordance with the applicable Privacy Policy.
By using the platform, users acknowledge that certain professional, academic, and participation-related information may be processed within the framework of EERS activities, scientific communication, event organization, networking activities, and institutional documentation.
11. Modification of the Terms
The organizing team reserves the right to modify or update these Terms of Use at any time in order to reflect:
- legal or regulatory developments,
- technical changes,
- operational requirements,
- security considerations,
- or improvements to platform governance and functionality.
Updated versions become effective upon publication on the platform.
12. Applicable law
These Terms of Use shall be governed and interpreted in accordance with French law.
Any dispute arising in connection with the platform or these Terms of Use shall fall under the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Paris, France.
